If we’ve seen anything through three schools years disrupted by COVID-19, it’s the importance of electing pro-public education, community-driven allies to our local school boards.
Many school districts have stepped in to protect students and staff, when state leaders have been pursuing their own political games. Other districts have not. And it all comes down to who we’re electing at the local level.
Keeping Our Schools Safe
Both Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and Houston ISD have upcoming school board elections. For the safety of our schools and all those in them, we need to elect leaders who will follow science, not politics.
Step 1: Vaccinated or not, wear your mask indoors to protect our students and those who can’t get vaccinated.
Step 2: If you’re eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine, get it. Vaccines are the No. 1 way to protect our communities.
Step 3: Vote for pro-public education school board candidates who will listen to educators and put safety first.
Both Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and Houston ISD have crucial school board elections this fall. You can find all the information you need to cast your ballot on the Harris County elections website.
