Our Vote Can Make a Difference

Current voter turnout is low for the Primary Run-off Election on May 26. Elections in November are won now by selecting strong nominees for the General Elections who we can count on to fight for public schools and our educators. If we don't show up now, we are giving an advantage to those who want to keep things exactly as they are, eroding public education and increasing our cost of living.
As educators, we have long been experiencing the increase in cost of living, the attacks on our freedom of speech, and seeing first-hand how our current state leadership is privatizing public education. What we are fighting for is not out of reach; we are fighting for something that has always been ours. We are fighting for the right to teach the truth, the commitment to fully funding public education, and a cost of living where we do not have to say, "I have worked hard all day, and I cannot feed my family."
This runoff election cycle gives us a huge opportunity to make a difference. As a union, we can make a difference in these run-off elections by joining together and voting for our endorsed candidates. When we come together and vote as educators and pro-public education supporters, our vote can decide elections.
Early voting ends today at 7 P.M. and Election Day is Tuesday, May 26. To learn more about your nearest polling site or voter information, check this out.
