Yes, dear Hotline readers, we too thought we would get a short breather from the chaos that is the social studies TEKS revision process. But the State Board of Education (SBOE) has announced a special meeting February 25-26 in Austin.
The agenda, posted to the SBOE page two days ago, provides for a public hearing and board discussion of the products and deliberations of Workgroup A. A public hearing on the standards will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 8 a.m. CST.
Public testimony registration was only open from 8 a.m. CST on Feb. 19 and ended at 5 p.m. CST on Feb. 20. By the time this edition of the Hotline lands in your inbox, your opportunity to make your voice heard in person will be diminished. Testifiers who are unable to speak due to this constraint may provide an electronic copy of their testimony to testimony@sboe.texas.gov for distribution to board members and staff.
