Two bills to provide “flexibility” for school districts at the expense of students and teachers could come up for floor votes in the Texas House (HB 400) and Senate (SB 12) tomorrow (Tuesday, April 26). Messages from school employees and parents all over the state already have slowed these bills down, but they haven’t yet been stopped. Please send an online letter to your state rep in opposition to HB 400 and your state senator in opposition to SB 12, if you have not done so already.
You can also call your state rep and tell them to vote “NO!” on HB 400 with our “Click to Call” link here.
And you can contact your state senator and tell them to vote “NO!” on SB 12 by calling toll free to 1-888-836-8368. Just ask to be connected to your senator. Need to find out who represents you? Click here.
