Texas maintains its dismal ranking for school finance

Texas again earned dismal scores for school finance and spending in Education Week’s “Quality Counts” report for 2018–which grades each state on a variety of factors contributing to the quality of public education. In the report released today, Texas earned a D-plus on school finance overall, and an F on per-pupil spending.

Texas is 41st in the nation in spending, with the dubious honor of improving itself one spot from 42nd last year.
