Union members join Lights for Liberty

Many of our Texas union members took part in the July 12 Lights for Liberty events, vigils in more than 750 towns and cities across the country calling for better treatment and a fair process for migrants being detained. Several Texas AFT local unions had representatives in Washington, DC, for the AFT Teach conference, where participants marched down the middle of Connecticut Avenue to the vigil in Lafayette Park (by the White House) for the vigil at the nation’s capital.
