Texas AFT Support Professionals Conference 2018

School Bus Driver

Our Role = Power!

Texas AFT, in conjunction with our state federation’s Support Professionals Committee and Leadership Development Committee, will host a conference on April 27 and 28 in Houston. Our conference will feature workshops designed to give support professionals ideas and tools on how to implement campaigns to build power. Participants will be part of a day and a half of team building activities and return energized to engage in union activities.

Who should attend?

Local unions are highly encouraged to send teams of support professionals (i.e. paraprofessionals, secretaries/clerks, cafeteria workers, custodians, bus drivers, etc.) who will participate in strategic workshops and will be responsible for implementing issue campaigns upon returning home. Teams should be empowered by the local to determine next steps and work in conjunction with local leadership to implement an issue campaign. Local presidents and key executive board members are also encouraged to attend.
