Wednesday, June 14 (with optional state
networking meeting till 3 pm)
Where: Austin, TX (Location TBA)
Cost: $35 individual registration
(No Cost for AISD employees/parents)

Join teams from schools across Texas for a three-day summit that will provide tools for building thriving community school efforts! Whether you are new to the idea of community schools or already have an effort underway, you’ll find helpful information, ideas and networking. Sponsored by AVEY, TCSC, Austin ISD, Texas AFT and Save Texas Schools.

What is a Community School?
Community Schools are neighborhood schools that bring together community partners, strong academics, student and family supports, out-of-school time programs and shared planning between parents, school and community to give students everything they need to be ready for college, career and life.
Summit Schedule
• Community Schools 101 for all participants, including training materials to use on your campus • Workshop topics for both exploring and exisiting community school efforts
• Guided 5me for teams to create community school plans for the upcoming school year
• Presentations by existing community school projects throughout Texas
• Professional Development opportunities for educators
