The SBOE will meet next Tuesday through Friday for review and revision of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for social studies. That process undoubtedly will be affected by recent anti-diversity and inclusion legislation (HB 3979) aimed to censor teachers.
The bill requires revisions to be completed by December of 2022. The long process starts with the board appointing content experts and then writing teams to review and revise the TEKS.
