PTA Members Lobby for Class-Size Limits, Education Funding

We offer a tip of the hat to our friends in the Texas PTA for making their presence felt at the capitol today. PTA members urged their legislators to uphold class-size limits and to come up with the funding needed for public education. They called for use of the state’s robust Rainy Day Fund ($9.4 billion) as well as other revenue sources.

Parents, teachers, school support personnel, and all like-minded fellow Texans—if we all stick together—can have a powerful impact on the outcome of the current debates at the capitol over funding of public schools and the future of key education reforms like 22-to-1 class-size caps in grades K-4. We just have to keep at it.
