CCAFT COPE Announces CCISD School Board Endorsements


Lamont C. Taylor – District 1   Lamont is a graduate of Roy Miller High School, Houston Tillotson College and Trinity University. He worked for the Regional Transportation Authority for 39 years. Since his retirement, he has worked for CCISD as a substitute teacher for the last 4 years. He is Co-Chair of the Citizens Alliance for Fairness and Progress. Lamont believes that every student deserves the right to a quality education, so they may become productive citizens.

S. Jaime Arredondo – District 2 With 37 years of experience in education, 22 of which was spent with CCISD, Jaime has served as a teacher, principal, and school leadership director before retiring in 2006. His extensive experience in education will provide a positive insight and be an asset to the CCISD School Board. Jaime is running unopposed, so he looks forward to serving CCISD and the community and will bring his knowledge, vision and commitment to ensure that all the necessary resources are available to provide the very best quality education for all students of CCISD.  

Tony C. Diaz – District 3   As the incumbent in District 3, Tony is a trusted and reliable voice for educators and children. He has consistently pushed for district initiatives that ensure the success of all students and employees.  With over 50 years of experience in education, Tony has served as a teacher, counselor, principal, director of certified personnel, assistant superintendent for instructional support services, and school board member.
