Early Voting Starts–Stand Up for Texas Students and Education Employees!

Twelve days of early voting will run from today through October 29 in the general election that culminates with 12 hours of voting on Tuesday, November 2. We urge you to take advantage of the convenient early-voting period to support candidates who will work to build up public education and do right by Texas students and those who serve them in our public schools and institutions of higher learning.

See the Texas AFT Web site (www.texasaft.org) for Texas AFT’s endorsements of education-minded candidates in top statewide races (Bill White for governor, Linda Chavez-Thompson for lieutenant governor, Barbara Ann Radnofsky for attorney general, among others) and all the key contested races for the state House, state Senate, State Board of Education, and U.S. House. You’ll find at our Web site ample information on where candidates stand on the issues and voting records of those who already hold office.
