Educators and support professionals in a charter and private schools (outside of a traditional public school district – non in-district charter schools), may join our Texas AFT Associate Membership Program (AMP). In-district charter school employees should consult with their local union about membership or call us at 1-800-222-3827.
Although charter and private school educators may join Texas AFT, employees are not covered by the same protections provided to public school employees via the Texas Education Code. Our level of representation will be determined by the policies and procedures of individual employers.
